For the last few years, Matthew has told us about a show that he likes called American Ninja Warrior. The show has contestants work their way through different obstacle courses that seem impossible. They get progressively harder building up to the final course that leads to Mt. Midoriyama. He works out continually building his arm strength and constantly practicing his ninja moves. We just thought this was him. He was unique and loved his little quirk of ‘working out’. (The kid is really strong from all his working out and practice!) But then we decided to tune in this season to the show and now we LOVE the show. My boys love to practice and aspire to one day being on the show. So when given the opportunity, they head out to the swing set and practice complete with timing each other.

Then we went to check out my new school and low and behold, they have a Mt. Midoriyama! The boys were thrilled to conquer it. Now we haven’t finished the season yet, so we don’t know what Mt. Midoriyama looks like, but this made my boys think of it and quickly named it that.
