Strong Genes

As much as we’re praying the boys don’t have HSP or asthma, certain genes seem to be pretty strong!  Even our recessive genes show up glowing in these boys.  You can imagine the funny looks I’ve gotten with two blonde hair, blue eyed boys (especially when they were babies and bleach blonde!).  Yet another gene that the boys seem to have inherited and embraced fully is the bloody nose.  Weekly, one (or like the other night, both) boys will spontaneously get a bloody nose.  Some are quite bad, and some are nothing really.  Since Shannon dealt with this growing up more than me (yes, I did have them though!), he’s in charge of dealing with them.  He’s great at it!  And because he’s so calm and good at it, the boys have adjusted and are excellent when dealing with them.  They calmly make us aware and then know that they are to sit calmly with their wash cloth till it’s done.  They never argue about sitting.  They never fuss and whine that it takes too long (that’s what I think every time!).  They just deal with it.  I’m so proud of them.

What is HSP? I tried to look it up and got several different possible answers.
